Who said adults can’t have any fun? Try out these delicious grown-up milk and cookies the next time you have some friends over, it’s sure to be a hit!
MAKES 16-18 cookies; 8-10 white Russians // COOKING TIME 1 hour and 10 min
INGREDIENTS
For the cookies
100 g milk chocolate, roughly chopped
80 g butter
100 g flour
100 g milk chocolate chips
1 tbsp cocoa
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
150 g brown sugar
2 eggs
For the white Russians
2 cups vodka
1 cup Kahlua
2 cups cream, whipped
METHOD
For the cookies
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a baking tray.
2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a pot over low heat, stirring continuously.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, chocolate chips, cocoa, baking powder and cinnamon.
4. In another bowl, cream the sugar and eggs until fluffy.
5. Fold the slightly cooled butter and chocolate mixture into the whisked eggs. Stir in the flour mixture and place in the fridge to chill for 30–45 minutes.
6. Dollop large tablespoons of the mixture on to the baking tray. Bake until just set with centres still gooey, 10–12 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool.
For the white Russians
1. Mix the vodka and Kahlua together. Pour into glasses, over ice, allowing for at least ⅓ cup per glass.
2. Top with about ⅓ cup cream each. Serve with the cookies.
