1. ALMONDS
If you’re dairy intolerant, opting for almonds will ensure that you get your dose of calcium. Rich in vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids, almonds are also a bone-building snack. Eating almonds also helps with improving your skin.
2. CASHEWS
They contain a high level of protein as well as minerals such as iron and zinc. If you are vegetarian, cashews are just another delicious way to get your protein. Add them to salads and stir-frys or enjoy a cashew nut butter on crackers.
3. WALNUTS
Walnuts are high in antioxidants and rich in omega-3, so if you aren’t too fond of eating oily fish, walnuts are a good alternative. Studies have also shown them to lower cholesterol, making them a heart-healthy option.
4. PECANS
They contain oleic acid which is the same healthy fat found in avos and olives. Pecans also improve digestion as they are fibre-packed! If you’re feeling fatigued crunch on some pecans for a quick dose of brain-boosting vitamin B3.
5. PISTACHIOS
They have substantial amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin which are antioxidants that are important for improving eye health. Pistachios also have a crazy low amount of calories and is a great source of vitamin B6 which helps keep hormones balanced.
