Ring’s latest innovation: The pan-tilt indoor camera

Ring offers an indoor camera perfect for the heart of your home – the kitchen. It is often the place where we entertain, make foodie memories, and watch over children and pets. Ring offers peace of mind when it comes to security.

Ring has been improving home security for more than a decade, with a wide variety of camera products allowing users to monitor homes and personal spaces via their mobile phones or tablets through the Ring App. South African Ring customers are increasingly focused on knowing what is happening in and around their homes. And as we know, the kitchen often forms the hub of our homes.

The pan and tilt function

With this in mind, Ring has launched the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera. This advanced product allows users to ‘look around’ using the Ring App, which activates the camera’s motorised pan-tilt base. As its name suggests, the camera tilts up or down and can pan left or right to provide a full view of the surroundings. Like all other Ring products, the set-up is simple – just plug it in, place it where you need it, and then use its 360° pan and 169° tilt coverage to find your perfect Live View, captured in HD video.

Advanced smart features

MyKitchen readers will appreciate that the Pan-Tilt Camera boasts the same great features Ring customers have come to expect and rely on, including Two-Way Talk, real-time motion alerts and colour night vision. Picture being able to check in on hubby preparing the supper and making sure the doggies have been fed. Imagine being able to chat about menu options in real time while stirring your secret sauce. The Pan-Tilt Camera is perfect for open-plan kitchens, entrance areas and family rooms.

The pan-and-tilt technology, coupled with the camera’s night-vision capability, eliminates pesky blind spots. Further empowerment for the user is provided by the product’s siren, which can be triggered remotely as a deterrent if something looks suspicious.

Enhanced privacy

Privacy and data security have always been paramount values for Ring and, therefore, its hardware and software provide features that enhance and protect the privacy of its users. You can control who sees what by using the manual lens cover, and the app makes use of state-of-the-art two-step verification along with end-to-end encryption settings.

The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera is available online at Takealot, Incredible Connection and various retailers nationwide. Its recommended retail price is R1 499, and it currently comes in two colours: black and white.

More information is available via Ring.com, where you can also read all about growing your Ring ecosystem through the Ring Protect subscription, which enables users to store footage in the cloud and access multiple live feeds.
