Puffed rice is so much more than just a bowl of cereal. We used it to make these game-changing cardamom puffed rice fritters. Enjoy them with your morning coffee topped with melting butter.
Enjoy our Christmas cake strudel for breakfast on Christmas morning, with coffee and tea around the tree on Christmas eve, or even as a dessert after your big Christmas lunch.

Compared to most chefs, Johan may have had a bit of a late start, only entering the industry when he was 28. He started out as a chef at a chateau in France, where he fondly remembers the time spent wandering through the kitchen garden, a basket of vegetables and herbs on his forearm, carefully picking fresh produce for the day. These days, Johan heads up the kitchen at Vrede en Lust’s Lust Bistro & Bakery, cooking and baking (make sure that you taste the sourdough!) fresh and fuss-free fare at one of the most renowned eateries in the foodie centre of Franschhoek. We visited his kitchen and he cooked us a delicious chocolatey treat with a bite, chicken mole nachos!
We are super into vegetarian stews at the moment and sweet potatoes are one of our favourite ingredients. And if you love peanut butter as much as we do, don’t feel bad about adding an extra scoop to this comforting peanut stew!
We just can’t get enough of gourmet hot dogs! This week we’re serving them up Thai-style, packed with flavours of sesame, soy, sriracha, coriander and peanuts. Perfect!
Enjoy a plentiful Mediterranean-style brekkie with your friends and family this holiday season. We went all out when we prepped this toasted naan platter. Dig in!
Oh, Christmas tree! Did you know that the Christmas tree is said to have originated in Germany in the 1500s? It was made popular in England by Queen Victoria’s German husband, Prince Albert, in the 1830s. From there, it spread to the states and eventually across the world. Use a skewer to poke a hole at the top of each Christmas tree biscuit before baking. Once cooked, thread ribbon through for edible decorations.
