Our guide on how to make butternut pie
SERVES 4 // HANDS-ON 20 min // HANDS-OFF 45 min
INGREDIENTS
250g peeled and chopped butternut, cooked and puréed
250g self-raising flour
250g maize meal
2 eggs
200g butter
2 tsp vanilla essence
METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a loaf or cake tin.
2. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
3. Transfer to the tin and bake for 45 minutes. Serve on its own or as a side dish.
